A new road leading to Gergeti Trinity Church is being constructed


Construction works of a 5.6 km long motor road leading to Stepantsminda-Trinity Church, Municipality of Kazbegi, are underway. Tourists, local population and church-goers will be able to travel on a new road. 
Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Zurab Alavidze visited the site. 
The project includes laying cement-concret cover, water pipes, constructing bearing walls and arranging a square for parking cars. Traffic signs will be installed and painted on the road. 
Gergeti Trinity Church is a XIVth century monument. It is the source of particular interest in tourists. Construction of the road will significantly support tourist potential development in Kazbegi. Works started in May, 2017 and will be finished in November, 2018. The project is implemented by the Roads Department of Georgia through the state funding and its cost amounts to GEL 7 793 854.
