Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia continues monitoring over construction-rehabilitation of projects across the country. Zurab Alavidze visited Imereti region where he got familiar with the sports infrastructure rehabilitation works. Minister saw reconstruction-rehabilitation works on Chess School after Maia Chuburdanidze in Kutaisi. Renewed Chess School will be able to host international and national chess tournaments from this summer. The facility is constructed in the second half of the 20th century though rehabilitation works have not been carried out on it since then. There are two halls – red and green – on the first floor of the building. The project covers widening of the green hall, which implies arrangement of six rooms with washrooms for each one. Façade and balconies of the building will also be rehabilitated. The works will be finished in June. The project is funded from the state budget and its total cost is more than GEL 300 000.
