A new waste transfer station will be serving to Borjomi and Bakuriani

A new waste transfer station of European standards is serving to Borjomi and Bakuriani. 
Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Zurab Alavidze personally visited the works along with the Head of Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia, Giorgi Shukhoshvili. Household waste is loaded in containers and are transported to Khashuri transfer station on a regular basis. Old dumpsite was closed down in compliance with European standards, whereas the new landfill has been operating for several months already. The works will serve to environmental protection and improvement of living conditions of tourists and population. 
The project of Borjomi-Bakuriani landfill was funded from the state budget and its cost amounted to hald mln GEL.
