“By 2019, the budget of the Ministry will be one billion nine hundred seventy million GEL”

According to the submitted initial project of the 2019 state budget, the budget of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure is increased by 150 million GEL compared to this year, and amounts to one billion nine hundred seventy million GEL, - Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Mrs. Mzia Giorgobiani discussed this issue in parliament. According to her, 70% of the amount is considered for road construction – about 44% of the whole budget is considered for highway construction, and 26% will be spent on improvement of other road infrastructure, which includes arrangement of secondary and local roads.
 „From the remaining 30%, about 11% is considered for improvement of water supply systems, which will be increased by about 2% compared to this year’s approved budget. In addition, implementation of various projects in terms of regional development is planned in different regions, which includes rehabilitation of water supply system as well as arrangement of cultural-tourist objects or rehabilitation works on the spot”, - mentioned Mzia Giorgobiani. The Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure also noted that the Ministry carries out works in direction of software development in different regions, which implies implementation of the projects with economic benefits for additional income.
