„Completion of Bodorna HPP - one more step forward for energy independence of our country“ – Ilia Begiashvili

One of the most significant projects of the year has been completed in Bodorna Village of Dusheti Municipality. Today the new Hydro Power Plant (HPP) – Bodorna HPP has been brought into service and it has been connected to the power grid of Georgia. In attendance of the event was Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Ilia Begiashvili. “Economic and infrastructural development of the country in general is in fact impossible without strong electric power system -undergoing development on a permanent basis. From this standpoint, finalization of Bodorna HPP is one more successful step forward. Implementation of similar projects is of special significance for energy independence of our country, especially when the talk is about green HPP which is deemed as to be the safest one amongst the HPPs throughout the world” - Ilia Begiashvili stated. Bodorna HPP will improve uninterrupted power supply for head works and pump stations of Georgian Water & Power that will be one more guarantee for Tbilisi City to be provided with stable water supply. Installed capacity of Bodorna HPP makes up 2,5 MW, whereas the average annual output will amount to 15 million kW/hr. Georgian Water & Power has invested GEL 10 million in construction of the HPP.
