Conference - “Supporting economic development in Kvemo Kartli and Tavush provinces”

A conference “Supporting Economic Development in Kvemo Kartli and Tavush Provinces” organized by an NGO SIDA was held at Radisson Hotel within the frames of an EU funded project “Trans-border economic development”.
The conference was attended by Mr. Tengiz Shergelashvili, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, independent experts, private entrepreneurs, and representatives of local self-governments and governmental agencies of the two countries (Georgia and Switzerland).
The Conference aimed at reviewing possibilities of trans-border cooperation between Georgia and Armenia and deepening knowledge to this direction. The campaign included a survey on economic situation, national legal framework and factors supporting trans-border cooperation of the two regions.
The survey revealed the fields that have substantial potential in terms of development, foreign trade and investment attraction. Presentation of a practical guide and a business catalogue on doing business in Georgia and Armenia, issued based on the data obtained from the survey, was also held at the Conference.
