Construction of tourist infrastructure at Sapara Monastery is at its completion stage

Construction of tourist infrastructure at Sapara Monastery, Akhaltsikhe, through the World Bank funding is at its completion stage. Main part of the works has been completed. Cost of the project exceeds more than half mln GEL and it is implemented by the Municipal Development Fund. Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Zurab Alavidze visited the site. Minister regularly monitors ongoing projects in regions. Rehabilitation works over 7 km access road to Sapara Monasteri were completed last year. At present, second stage of works are going on. The project covers construction of a souvenir shop and an entrance gate as well as paving of access road. From November, locals and tourists can enjoy with infrastructure of modern standards, adapted for people with limited abilities.
