Embankment protection works were carried out along the Enguri river

Embankment protection works were carried out on six different spots along the Enguri river, Zugdidi Municipality.  
Heavy precipitation posed significant threat to the population along the River. The flooded river inflicted damage to the nearby plots of lands and at some sections the River even flooded cornfields.
In order to fully solve the issue, protective structure was constructed at Shamgona, Koki and Orsantia sections of the River, while the works are near to finish at Tkaia section.  
Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia visited the site with the Deputy Governor of Samegrelo Region, David Kodua and local population.  
The works were implemented by the Roads Department of Georgia. The project was funded from the state budget and its total cost amounted to GEL 1 975 200.
