Establishment of Electronic Procurement System significantly increased the level of transparency, as the system makes possible for all the interested individuals or institutions to be involved in the procurement process – stated Minister Alavidze during his speech at the Conference - „Asia Pacific Public Electronic Procurement Network“.
“During the implementation of infrastructure projects we pay huge importance to the transparency of procurement process and public access to related information. The implementation and use of Electronic Procurement System simplifies application process, insures increase in competition and makes the process transparent with highly effective monitoring possibilities. There is an annual increase in the number of State Tenders and contracts conducted by means of Electronic Procurement System – same can be said regarding the projects implemented by our ministry” - stated Minister Alavidze.
Conference - „Asia Pacific Public Electronic Procurement Network“ was conducted in cooperation by Asian Development Bank and State procurement Agency of Georgia where representatives of about 97 participants from 39 Developing Member Countries took part. The aim of the regional forum was to share ideas, experiences, and discuss common issues on developing and implementing e-procurement systems.
