First weightlifting hall is being built in Sachkhere

New modern standards weightlifting hall is being built in Sachkhere. Local sportsmen will be able to practice in the new building starting from November.

The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia – Zurab Alavidze with the Governor of Imereti – Givi Tchitchinadze got acquainted with ongoing infrastructural works.

Until now, athletes had to exercise in different buildings due to lack of sports halls. The construction of the sports halls is on the final stage. Currently covering works of the building is underway. 700 000 GEL is allocated from the state budget for works.

Hundreds of athletes have been grown up in Sachkhere weightlifting section, including 100 Olympic, World, European and Georgian champions. Today, 52 sportsmen train in Sachkhere weightlifting section.
