Kakheti, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti landfill will be arranged according to European Standards

Today, presentation was held concerning the results of waste management feasibility study for Kakheti, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region. 
The meeting was attended by First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Matkava, Director of Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia, Giorgi Shukhoshvili, consultants of German Development Bank (KfW) and representatives of Municipalities.
The (KfW) German Development Bank supports the Government of Georgia to improve the waste management system. The feasibility study has been prepared for the project "Integrated Solid Waste Management’’ (ISWM) in Kakheti and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region. Special attention was paid to the introduction of international standards on waste management, as well as resource recovery and waste valorization issues.
