Maya Tskitishvili congratulated the population of Adigeni municipality on “Zarzmoba”

Vice Premier of Georgia, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maya Tskitishvili congratulated the population of Adigeni municipality on Zarzmoba holiday after the solemn liturgy at St. George’s Cathedral. The holiday was held in the village of Zarzma, on a day of Serapion Zarzmeli, founder of the Zarzma Monastery. Zarzmoba is a public-religious holiday, which is celebrated by the population of Adigeni as well as secular and cleric persons from different regions of the country.
The Vice Premier also met with the population of the village Mokhe and inspected the public school of the village. The school serves up to 200 children from several villages. The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia will carry out rehabilitation of the village Mokhe with financing of the European Investment Bank. The project envisages full rehabilitation of the existing school (classrooms, toilets, sports hall, sports square) and improvement of the yard territory. Installation of heating, water and sewage systems is planned. Rehabilitation works will be started in 2019.
The Municipal Development Fund also starts rehabilitation of the public school in the village of Zarzma, in Adigeni municipality. All schools will be adapted for people with disabilities.
In addition, arrangement works of tourist infrastructure adjacent to the Zarzma Monastery is planned, including arrangement of hiking trail, rehabilitation works of Zarzma Dome and Tamaris Tskaro, a site with cultural heritage status.
The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure also listened to the problems and initiatives of Akhaltsikhe population. The Minister provided the local population with information on already planned infrastructure projects. Namely, construction of the House of Culture, professional institute and swimming pool starts in 2019, in Akhaltsikhe, while in order to solve long-term water supply problems of the population of the village Vale, rehabilitation works of the village’s water supply system will be started in 2019 with financing of the Asian Development Bank.
Implementation of many infrastructure projects is planned in Samtskhe-Javakheti region, including organization of road infrastructure and construction of schools and kindergartens. New schools will be constructed in the village of Orgori in Aspindza municipality, village of Orlovka in Ninotsminda municipality, village of Gortubani in Adigeni municipality, and construction of a kindergarten for children of three villages will be started in the village of Tskruta in Akhaltsikhe municipality.
