Meeting with representatives of the UN Office of Space Affairs

The meeting of the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry with the representatives of the technical advisory mission of the Information Platform (UN-SPIDER) at the United Nations Office for Space Affairs (UNOOSA) was conducted at the Ministry of regional Development and Infrastructure.
Foreign experts have expressed interest how the Georgian side uses space technology for crisis prevention and management process. Special attention Representatives of the Space Affairs Office of the United Nations was paid to disaster risk reduction. Representatives of the Ministry discussed the realized projects in this regard.
Georgia is the 36th country, where the UN mission's experts arrived. Their aim is to analyze the existing situation in regard of disaster management and preparation of the United Nations official report, which will be suggested to the Government of Georgia. Foreign experts and representatives of the Ministry agreed about trainings and future cooperation to improve the deciphering-handling of the material received from space satellites.
