Meeting with the GIZ representatives
8 April 2016Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Nodar Javakhishvili met Catharina Dercon of the Embassy of Germany to Georgia and a new Head of GIZ South Caucasus Regional Office – Mary Scheffer along with the Deputy Minister, Tengiz Shergelashvili.
The meeting was introductory. The parties discussed reforms in the field of local self-governance in Georgia, successfully implemented joint projects and broadening cooperation between the Ministry and the German side. The parties also reviewed the activities planned for 2016 in the field of local self-government in Georgia by the GIZ and the issues of modernization of municipal administration. The project which aims at strengthening public involvement mechanisms in local self-government units and its wide introduction was also discussed at the meeting.
