National Training System for Local Civil Servants in Georgia

9 November 2016

The Center for Effective Governance System and Territorial Arrangement Reform  at the Mnistry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia  presented the National Training System for Local Civil Servants in Georgia.

Tengiz Shergelashvili, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Shombi Sharp, Deputy Head of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Georgia, and Olivier Bürki, Regional Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office for the South Caucasus, will open the event.

The National Training System is an innovative mechanism with the aim to ensure the provision of high quality training programs adapted to the needs of the local civil servants. The online platform of the system enables training providers to register the courses and allows municipalities to self-contract the training programs according to their needs and priorities.

The system was set in motion with assistance from UNDP, Swiss Cooperation Office (SCO) for the South Caucasus and Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC), and in partnership with the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.
