Rehabilitation works on Rustavi landfill has been completed

The Rehabilitated Rustavi landfill was observed by Irakli Matkava, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure (MRDI) and Giorgi Shukhoshvili, Director of the Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia (SWMCG) along with Paata khizanishvili, Governor of Kvemo Kartli, and Davit Jikia, Rustavi City Mayor.

Closure works of an old cells and arrangement of a new cells according to European Standards has been recently completed in the Rustavi landfill.

The conditions of an old Rustavi landfill were extremely poor. Approximately 2 957 Tone Waste were being delivered From Rustavi and Gardabani every month. In order to minimize the harmful effect on environment and human health, Ltd. “Solid Waste management Company of Georgia” implemented Rustavi municipal landfill rehabilitation project, which was financed by the Georgian government.
