Renewed coastline for Maltakva
14 March 2017The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia - Zurab Alavidze and the Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Municipality - Levan Shonia inspected coastline improvement works in Maltakva.
According to Minister’s statement, it is important to maintain and renew resort-recreation zone of Maltakva, in the sense of environmental improvements, as well as the development of tourism.
The coastline improvement works were financed from the regional fund. The cost of the project equals to 18 500 000 GEL, works started in 2015 and will be completed by this year. 15 persons are employed in the works.
The main beneficiaries of the project are 25 thousand local residents, and additionally, 20 thousand tourists. The project is fully adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.
