Under organization of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and within the frames of CoE Regional Development Policy Support Program a media seminar “Georgia’s Regional Development” was held on 1 – 3 April.  

The seminar aimed at presenting the ongoing works and outcomes to the journalists and public that the Ministry is carrying out in the field of local self-government reform and in terms of harmonization with European standards and decentralization.

The seminar was led by the Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Tengiz Shergelashvili. The speakers presented Georgia’s regional development system and local self-government reform issues to media representatives. The participants of the seminar discussed the activities to be implemented within the frames of the Association Agreement and on the road to regional development, decentralization reform, administrative-territorial arrangement issues, as well as issues related to newly adopted law on High-Mountainous regions and activities planned in the nearest future.
