Priorities of decentralization, mountainous settlement development strategy, ongoing infrastructure projects and its plans have been introduced to journalists by the management of the Ministry.
"Regional media involvement is very important for successful implementation of projects and increasing population awareness. It is necessary to deliver accurate information to the population regarding current situation and processes. Having active cooperation with regional media is very important to us,"said Maya Tskitishvili.
While discussing an importance of decentralization, the management of the Ministry have emphasized its basic principles. To prepare a medium-term strategy project, media representatives were offered to participate in the working group.
“The Ministry has begun preparation of a mid-term strategy project of decentralization. The process implies giving more authority and responsibility to self-governments and additional resources and finances will be distributed within municipalities. They will independently determine priorities, severity and actuality of the issue. This is more opportunity and competence in the process of decentralization of self-governments, which all parties agree on, "said Maya Tskitishvili.
Deputy Ministers informed the journalists about the road, tourism and social infrastructure projects, as well as the challenges in water supply in the regions and discussed already planned projects and future plans in this direction.
The Ministry intends to actively plan such working meetings and continue holding close cooperation with regional media representatives.
