The Rehabilitation of Chiatura-Perevisa 7 km long section is underway

Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Mr. Zurab Alavidze continues monitoring of the road construction-rehabilitation projects in Imereti Region. Mr. Alavidze visited the rehabilitation project of a 7 km long section of the Chiatura-Perevisa-Sveri-Tvalueti-Gezruli motor road in Imereti Region. The road section is located in Minicipality of Chiatura. The road starts from Chiatura and crosses two villages: Shukruti and Perevisa. Currently an Asphalt concrete layer is being laid. The road has not been rehabilitated since the 1980’s. Asphalt concrete layer of the road was severely damaged; thus being unable to ensure safe and comfortable travel. The project includes arranging structures, pipes, gutters, gabions, base and Asphalt concrete cover. It also involves arrangement of a parking lot for buses, fixing entrances of the yards and installing traffic signs. The project is carried out by the Roads Department of Georgia. The project is funded from the state budget and its cost amounts to GEL 4 573 7000. The project employs 70 people. The works started in August, 2017 and will be finished by the end of this year.
