Village Vakiri Population to Benefit from the New Motor Road

The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is constructing a new road. Currently, in Village Vakiri of Sighnaghi Municipality, where there was no motor road existing, construction works are ongoing for the one kilometer long and six meter wide asphalt-concrete road, the project also envisages arrangement of drainage canals. The project is backed by the international donor organization – European Investment Bank. Project cost averages GEL 500,000. Together with the works ongoing in Vakiri, Zurab Alavidze, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has also inspected the road rehabilitation process. According to his statement, most part of road sections, which got damaged in winter period countrywide, will be rehabilitated by the end of month.
