Zurab Alavidze and the Minister of Regional Development of Latvia agreed on bilateral cooperation

Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Zurab Alavidze and the First Deputy, Irakli Matkava met the Minister of Environment Protection and Regional Development of Latvia, Kaspar Gerhards. At the meeting the two Ministers shared their views on development of municipalities. The parties also talked about the issues of future cooperation in solid waste management field and about the ways of sharing their experiences to each other in this direction. It was agreed at the meeting that the two agencies will conclude an agreement on future cooperation. An official visit of Georgian delegation to Litva was also planned. According to Mr. Gerhards, Latvia has always had friendly relations with Georgia. “The two countries have good relations in every field. Today, I talked to my counterpart on the issues, which are important for future cooperation, including continuing cooperation in the waste management field and development of regional projects. I am sure that in just couple of months we will be able to conclude a cooperation agreement” – said the Minister of Environment Protection and Regional Development of Latvia.
