Zurab Alavidze visited Samegrelo region and saw rehabilitation of local roads

Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Zurab Alavidze continues monitoring over construction-rehabilitation of local roads in Samegrelo region.  Zurab Alavidze, together with the representatives of local authorities, visited Zugdidi Municipality, where he saw rehabilitation works over the road connecting Orsantia to Darcheli. 
Laying asphalt-concrete cover on around 5 km road section, is coming to an end. The project is funded from the state budget and its cost amounts to GEL 2 000 000. 
According to the Minister, the situation on local roads in villages is poor, as the infrastructure has not been rehabilitated for decades.
“To put an end to this problematic issue we are spending millions of GEL through the aids from Donor organizations and from the state budget. Rehabilitation of a 5 km. long road section connecting Orsantia to Darcheli in Zugdidi Municipality is coming to end.  This section has never been covered with asphalt, which made travel on this road difficult. In addition to rehabilitation of the road, gutters will be arranged and entrances to the yards will be fixed. We are actively working on improving road and other infrastructure in regions to ensure proper living conditions for local population” – Mr. Alavidze said.
